Default 96 E300 cruise control = check engine light.

so i picked up a 96 E300D off eBay cheap, but no books. I find the search function here helpful, but not this time.

I got the car as a commuter and intend on doing the WVO conversation. it's 90% highway car, 45miles one way to work.

it seems to run very well, but lots of little issues I may or may not fix.

on item of concern, every time I set the cruise, the check engine light comes on and stays on for a day or so, then all back to normal until i bump it again looking for the turn signal. any thoughts? (very tempted to cut the dang lever off at the steering column)
