Hello all;

I bought my daughter a 1989 190E 2.6. Her battey died and I recharged it. When I tried to restart the car the headlights and taillights and all 4 blinkers were flashing. Just like if the emergency flashers were on. I checked the emergency flashers and the were off. Each time I try to start the car all the lights flash. They flash and they continue to flash for about 2 minutes after I shut off the car.

Any suggestions as to the problem? Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Sounds like the alarm systemmay beinterfering with the starter system. I am surprised the car started! Did the car run rough? If my suspicion is correct, try the following:

Reset the alarm bytaking the key and lock the driver's side door. Waitabout 15 seconds thenunlock the driver's side door with the key. The car should restart without the lights blinking and all should be normal.
