'87 300E cold start problem
I have 1987 300E. The car runs great, never stalls. However if it sits overnight, it's difficult to start. I need to crack it and give it some gas. Once it starts it runs just fine and the idle is very smooth. I checked the over voltage protection relay fuse. That's fine. I also pulled the cold start injector and with it connected, turned the key to see that it was spraying fuel. Although it's hard to tell how much is the right amount, it was spraying a fine mist of fuel. I also tried turning the key on and off a few times before starting to see if the fuel pump was losing its prime. This did not change the condition. After it's warmed up, the car will start immediately. Any advice?
Thanks,
Jim

just like on the newer engines a lazy or faulty coolant temp sensor supplies the wrong value at cold start so the injection system has errant info to process.Easy diy and worth a shot by the symptoms you state.
