Default 87 300D Turbo -Cupping edges of front tires

Howdy folks. My wife drives her 87 300D turbo to and from work everyday about an 80 mile round trip. it has 173k on it. When we bought the car it had new Michelin MXV4 tires on it that were wore fairly evenly but seemed to go away fast. They were completely shot with 20k on them and the traction was terrible in the wet and the winter. So I had Bridestone grid 009 put on. We had them on a Volvo previously and liked them they are grippy especially in harsh weather. Immediately the outside edge of the left front began to cup. I went to the Mercedes dealer for an alignment and they said I needed new tie rod ends not that they were bad but the adjustment collar was seized and they couldn't adjust the thing back to specs with the old ends. So away we went $500 later. The problem still exists and with only 9k on the tires the left front is looking terrible and the right front is doing it too but not as bad. the left rear also shows some cupping on the edges not as bad as the fronts. The right rear looks great and is the onlye tire on the car that looks 'normal'
Do I need to get it back to the dealer, to have them verify the aliginment? Could it be the tires or just normal for Mercedes? We have had several Mercedes over the years, I don't remember any of the others doing this. Any help or info is appriciated.
