722.9 7 speed neutral safety switch location
Hello all,
I have a 2005 E500 RWD
I've been under the car several times and there is nothing under my shifter that resembles and electric switch; my shifter has a bolt that connects it straight into the transmissions aluminum block. There is nothing in between that shifter and the block, nothing plastic with an wiring harness connected to it- NOTHING- really. Nothing there like the neutral safety switches you most commonly see in pictures.
A guy who saw me under the car and struck up conversation about it said that sometimes the neutral safetystructure is monitored and carried out by the computer (maybe internal communication to the transmission). Is this how the 722.9 7 speed tranny carries this out, does anyone have any confirmation and knowledge of this?
Thanks
