Default 300th terrible handling

I bought a 99 300TD with 72K on it. I have been driving this thing for about a month and I am very dissapointed in the handling of this car. The harder I push it the worse this car losses composure. Yesterday I was on the interstate and going thru a urban area, good corners with dips and some bumps. The car will actually pitch front to rear while the front end will float. While the front floats the geometry actually changes the cars direction make me compensate. Quite frankly it is the worse handling car I have drive since the sixties.
So what gives, Is it the car, **** poor shocks, worn bushings on what. Please don't tell me I got worn front end parts with only 75K on the car. I thought these were good cars made to last. The car drives okay noramlly, just when I start pushing it some it doesn't like it.
It appears the shock are weak in rebound dampening to me. Also the car may be sprung a bit to soft.
Is there better or adjustable shocks to fit this car???
Would appreciate anybodies suggestions. If I can't fix it reasonably I'll dump this pig and buy a jap product.

I'm also have a 300TD from 98 with 158000 km on it and the handling is superb.

My chassis is the Avantgarde, and the response and sensation of grip is very good.

Perhaps the shocks aren't in good condition...

I don't know if the shocks for Europe are similar that those you have in USA.

Is anyone know?

Check the condition of the tires. I have a 99 300TD and it handles beautifully, but when the tires are worn, I've experienced problems with handling. The car will pull to one side and the wheels will vibrate giving the sensation of poor handling. Installing new, balanced tires solved these problems.
