Default 2015 E220 CDI Bluetech

I recently had the NOX sensor replaced after the warning light came on on the dash and the Stop Start ceased working. Now that it’s replaced, the Stop Start only works for a while after a long drive (50+ miles). The garage (non Merc) who fitted the new sensor say that most likely the battery is no longer powerful enough as it has to contend with all the other electrical components! CAN THIS BE CORRECT? Can anyone enlighten me. Thank you
