Default 2007 E350 Automatic Climate Control

I have a 2007 E350. When I have the auto climate control on and the AC off, sometimes when I start the carin warm weather, and the interior of the car is warm, the climate control blows cold air for a few minutes (as if the AC was on...but it's not) and then it blows warm or cool air as needed after that. It does not seem to do this whenI start the car cold or when the weather is cold. The blower regulator was recently replaced but the system still does this. Is this a normal function in warm weather to cool down the interior for a few minutes? Does the system automatically run the AC for a few minutes to cool down the interior when it's warm and then revert back to normal operation? I asked the dealer but he didn't appear to have any knowledge of this.
