Thumbs down 2005 E500 4matic Airmatic Problem

While driving in Washington DC rush hour traffic on I-95, I received white warning message that car is low and see workshop soon. I continued to drive in stop and go traffic for an additional hour then the red warning light appears indicating the car is low and stop soon. The steering was responsive, and I didn't perceive a safety issue to continue home. When I stopped the left front was discernibly lower than the right front, and there was no air leaking noises.
Question: Many of the threads on this subject indicate that both sides of the car were lowered when Airmatic issues arise. What has happened such that only the left front has lowered?

The rest of the story: Failure was an air leak in the left front strut. But that is not all. Apparently, there was a code set in the computer that indicated the camshaft position sensor is also failing. So, I paid nearly $2000 in repairs.
Has anyone seen a list of high failure rate items for the E500/550? This would be useful information to have.

I had the same problem on my E500. The strut hydropneumatic is gone and needs to be replaced. do not drive your vehicle otherwise your will ruin your axle boot kit. This repair was very pricy...........good luck.....check with your service tech
