2005 E320 A/C fan issue
I have a 2005 E320 that I think has an climate control fan/blower. After the car has been outside for a short while and the temperature is slightly warm (it doesn't have to be that warm -- maybe 70 or so), when I turn the car on, the AC fan starts blowing at full force for a few seconds and then just shuts off. The entire AC/climate control system shuts down. I leave the climate control on auto and the temperatures are set at around 72-74 degrees. The climate control system will be completely inoperable for 2-3 minutes, then it will start up again. I took it to the dealership and they tried to tell me this is a "feature" so that its not blowing hot air on me. I could understand that if it were 90 - 100 degrees, but this is happening when the temperature of the car is only slightly elevated. Plus, the entire system shuts down -- I can't even set the fan manually. This really doesn't seem right and its frustrating that the dealership thinks I'm so stupid. Any thoughts on what might be causing this problem -- I'd like to get fully informed before I go back.
