Have an E430 with 140k. Not much problems until I noticed the left front control arm was split at the lower ball joint. I took it to an independent mechanic who replaced the control arm, ball joint and shocks on both sides of the front end. He said the reason the control arm split was because the bottom of the coil was broke. He checked the other side, and sure enough the right front coil was also broke. He said everything else under the car was fine ( I guess he means for now). Price was not too back, under $1k for everything.
