I have a 2004 E500 w/ 27K and the rt frt strut went bad and had to be replaced. ($1600 not including the tow) Unfortunately it is off warranty. Are these struts a problem with these cars? The dealer suggested I buyan extended warranty in case this happens again. Any opinions from owners with higher mileage cars?

 

Def get a warrenty for this. My brother hasa 2003 E500 and it was replaced 3 times already by MB. The recent one was with only 5k and the car dropped in middle of the road and we drove it back right to the dealer. make sure if its done by MB you save the invioce and if it happens in a year you get it replaced by them again.
