Can you please help me! Yesterday my daughter rolled down the back passanger window and it went down ok and then suddenly I started to hear some rattling and things cracking. The window went all the way, but when I tried to roll it back up it would not move. I had to pull it up manually, and even then it sounded like something was breaking off. Do you know if this is an easy repair? If so do you know what parts I would need and what they are called or if there is a kit for the window unit. Thanks in advance for your help and response.
In addition can you also include how the door panel comes off, thanks so much!

I fixed this once on a 97 E320. You need a window regulator. Most likely the window motor is OK and you can test the motor to make sure. I just looked up the window regulator part for you for a 2001 E320 on http://www.importeccatalog.com/ website for you. It is about $63 with free shipping and no tax.
All in all, it is fairly easy to replace. You need to drill the four aluminum rivets to get the part out and you need four rivets and a riveter to install it back. You can pickup the rivets and the riveter in any hardware store like Lows or Home depot.
You may e-mail me if you have more questions.
