Default 2000 E320 Purchase?

I have a chance to purchase a 2000 E320 with 53,000 miles. The car looks pretty good except the interior is very dirty, like it has more miles on it.

My local MB tech said digital displays can not be rolled back? I did a car fax and it checks out.

What are some concers or problems I should consider for this year? I plan to keep it a while if I purchase it.

Thanks

milelage *can* be rolled back but not easily. either dealer, or small handful of companies
who specialize in digital odo repair.

i'd compare secondary signs such as brake and gas pedals, armrest, buttons on console
appliances (radio, etc) where lettering may be faded vs clean, maybe Smartkey wear,
sunroof .....ie things which are heavily used ....and see if they match that of a car
with avg 50k miles

It sounds like a good buy. I have the 2002 E320 and I love it. I have had very few problems with it, it realy is a solid car. I always say that if te interior is not taken care of then usually the rest of the car is not taken care of either. Thats the way I have bought many car and DID belive it untill I bought my 2000 C280 Sport that was in great condition and the interior was immaculate. I have had many stupid issues with my c class and am not happy with it at all. I would say to this is get it inspected by a good private shop before buying.( If possible)

That's just it the inside is really dirty like it was not kept up. I do not want to sound mean but it look like a pig lived in it. I am pretty sure a good scrubbing and detail will bring it back to life. Its like somthing does not add up.

I still might take a chance if I can get a deal on it. I am trying to get it for $9,000 - $10,000.

I have been doing some resarch and there can be guite a fer issues. The big one is rust on the front mount for shocks/steering.

Thanks for everyone's input.

Spring perches,a/c issues, dead pixels.Clean carfax means nothing, just did a buyers inspection for a member in the midwest of a car for sale near me.
Records show clean carfax, car showed damage repair by shoddy body shop.It was an 01 purchased at auction for $7500 and the guy was trying to flip it for 10.5G
2000 in nice shape can be had in the 9's if you look ,inspect, and inspect

OK I got the skinny form the MB dealer. The reason it was donated is because the owner ran somthing over and the dealer wanted to charge a fourtne to repair it. Here is what the dealer says it needs to be worthy:

Suspension

Upper & Lower A-arm

Spindle

Possible rack & pinion

Engine

Leaking rear seal

Leaking valve covers

Leaking Air Conditioner compressor

Would you still consider purchasing it if you know it needs these repairs?

Thanks

2000 E320s are beautyful and reliable cars. That year model received a face lift: new side mirrors, new front, new instrument cluster, improved interior lighting, etc. But if that specific car looks like a pig corral in the interior it´s probably it´s maintenance history will looks the same. Sorun away, there are plenty w210s in pristine conditions out there.
