Having trouble with sqeaking front brakes and tail light socket contact. Brought to Mercedes dealer several times, SPENT $$$$, they tried to fix brakes but fail to find problem. The tail light socket has problem with contact. The information display notifies me that the lamp is defective. I check the bulb and it is still good. I play around with the socket and it works for a short time. MB, as well as private MB mechanic Shops have tried to fix problem but also have failed. I am at the end of my rope and am considering selling. But am seeing first if anyone else has had these problems before and found a solutions.

 

The solution for the taillight is to replace the whole assembly. For a brake squeak good rotors are necessary. Also goo quality german pads. No local part store brands. A bit of antisqueak paste on the load surfaces (not friction surface) tends to help too.
