Default 1998 E320 wagon heat/blower

have a E320 wagon that the blower has stopped. I have looked though the forum and understand that this is a common problem. I have two questions that I am looking for answers to. There is no heat in the car. If the blower is bad will the climate control still work? By that I mean will warm air still circulate even if the blower is not working? Secondly is replacing the blower a do it yourself fix? Lastly can anyone provide me with a description on how to remove and replace the blower. In the mean time I will tell my daughter to have a blanket with her when she drives to school in the morning. Thanks in advance.

Yup blower is something you can do yourself. You could also need a blower regulator which controls the blower speed.
remove lower dash panel on passenger side. Then you'll see the blower assembly there. You'll need a torx to remove the blower. Regulator is also next to the blower.

Yes. You need the blower to circulate the heat..
You can remove the blower and leave it plugged in then try to turn it on and maybe give the blower a spin with your hand. Careful its pretty strong. I would also see if you have a blown blower fuse .

Just to give you a heads up...on the older e class cars sometimes you needed to replace the blower and regulator and also the bottom cover of the blower. Design was changed.

Again Chasis21 thank you. I guess the next logical question would be to ask if you might point me to where I can find a part number for both items. Again I thank for you help.

this is a follow up on my question about the blower and regulator. I have been able to find the blower but the regulator is a bit more difficult to find. I contacted my local MB dealer and they gave me the following as a part number 210-821-46-51 BLOWER REG A18A 2, but when I do the search I get 210 821 1551 Mercedes Blower Fan Regulator. Can anyone point me two where I can get the regulator?
