1998 E320 BAS/ASR lights still on.
I've replaced my brake light switch for the fourth time and I still have the BAS/ASR lights on. As a result my brake lights do not work along with my cruise control. I've read every thread in the forum hoping to find a clue as to what is the root cause of this problem. So far I haven't found anything. I'm posting this help message as a last attempt to figure out the problem before hauling the car into the stealership for a diagnostic check. Can anyone offer a solution or a cou0ple of things I should check or try before heading to the dealer.
Thanks in advance to all those that reply.

I don't believe this is relevant to my problem as my car has the factory ASR on/off switch. Thank you for your response.
Does anyone know if the issue could be in the main light switch/fuse housing. I should add that I have had an issue with the left headlight and the left fog lamp not working. Both bulbs are good but have no power going to them.
Thank you.

Expanding further on my feeling that the problem may be in the headlight switch/fuse control module.......I decided to play around with some of the fuses. All the fuses where good so I wedged a few of them and guess what. I got my left headlight to work and........the brake lights. The BAS/ASR lights are now no longer coming on. I still need to get one running light and one fog light to work and all will be good.
Does anyone have a headlight switch combo for sale, part number 210 545 2204.
