Default 1998 e320

I have a 1998 e320 with 80,000 miles on it, I havent brought it in service and was told that I have a leaking transmission oil cooling hose. When I drive it I smell the oil that I guess is leaking underneath. I see the red tab where I have to break and get a dipstick to check the level, would it tell me on the dask if the oil is low? and what is the part number of the dipstick that I have to get to check the level
