Hello everyone,
I have a 1996 e320 sedan and I am seeking advice on a A/C blower problem.
Driving along yesterday in sub-zero temperatures with the Heat in the car set to HI when the blower motor quit.
What are my first steps in diagnosing this problem-
1. Does this car have fuses for the blower? If so where?
2. Is there a blower regulator and or some relay that I can replace? If so where?
3. Do blowers typically just fail?
4. Can I connect power to the blower directly to see if the blower is bad?
Thanks in advance.

I pulled the Fault Code from the Air Conditioning unit (see how to do this below) and got the following Error Code. "FF" Anyone have any clue to what this code means?

Procedure for pullinf Fault Codes go like this: Turn on the ignition, and set the left temperature to "HI" and the right temperature to "LO". Then, simultaneously press buttons "Rest" and "EC" for five seconds. All of this must be done within 20 secorends. The "Recirculate" button will flash its LED. The screen will then go blank, and the first code can be brought up by pressing the right "AUTO" button.

Subsequent codes are retrieved by additional application of the right "AUTO" button.

YES THE BLOWER HAS 2 FUSES MOST OF THE TIME ITS THE MASTER FUSE THAT GOES.WHICH IS LOCATED IN THE HOOD DRIVERS SIDE NEAR FENDER IN A PROTECTED SMALL PLASTIC BOX ,EASY TO SNAP OPEN AND REPLACE THE FUSE.

IF FUSE IS GOOD CHECK THE OTHER FUSE IN THE FUSE BOX CONTROL.

ANOTHER POSSIBILITY IS THAT THE BLOWER IT SELF IS WORN OFF THE BRUSHES ON THE LITTLE ELECTRIC MOTOR ARE USED UP. THAT WAS MY PROBLEM,SO I REPLACED THE BRUSHES INSTEAD OF BUYING THE BLOWER.COST ME 14 DOLLARS INSTEAD OF 350.00. I HOPE THIS CAN HELP YOU BUDDY.

Hi Lino,

Thanks for the info. I tried to locate that Master fuse that you mentioned in the small box. The only small box I found did not contain any fuses. Also what amperage are these fuses rated for?

Thanks
