1995 E320 Won't Start on Extremely Hot Days
In my 1995 E320, I drove over a bunch of potholes and the fuel/oil/coolant gauge and rpm gauge went out. The fuel/oil/coolant gauge made a humming noise. I parked the car from 9:00 AM to 1:15 PM and when I tried to start it, nothing happened. The battery light was on and I assumed that whatever happened after hitting the potholes had made the battery go dead (like leaving on the headlights). The car would not start by a jumpstart. We assumed that something had knocked loose going over the potholes. We disconnected/reconnected the relays and checked the fuses, but still it wouldn’t start. It sat overnight and started immediately the next morning. Also, all of the gauges worked again. (Whatever was loosened from the potholes must have been corrected when the relays were reconnected.) My question: does anyone know about an electrical or starting problem from this model when the components are hot? In the summer, this car and my previous ’86 300 would be hard to start on extremely hot days. As though the heat was a factor. This morning at its coolest, the car started right up. Also, does anyone know what TSBs SB-32-22-78 and SB-07-16-80D indicate to do? I can't find complete information on them.
