I just got a 1993 190e and need to replace my muffler that is rusting out. I want something with a little bit of sound but nothing that sounds dumb like the Civic's with the really loud mufflers. I have heard really good things about Remus mufflers or should I go with something cheaper, Flowmaster, Magnaflow? Open to suggestions.

 

Hi, considering that the 190 in question is the 2.0 4 cyl, then i would get a Remus muffler, or a magnaflow depending on what you want to spend. I personally would avoid the flowmaster.

 

Thanks, I appreciate it. I doubt that it will make much of a difference if any at all but my Mercedes is the 2.6 6 cylinder version. Still say the Remus muffler?

 

I recommend the Remus more so now, with the 6 cyl motors, the Remus is a better choice over the magnaflow just for the noise, but if it was a 2.0 it wouldn't have really made a difference since its a 4 cyl. So yes, that little bit more expensive Remus will really pay off.
