My 92 400E has a stuck open slinding roof.

It is stuck in the position where the back end is raised up, the drivers side goes down but the passenger side stops about 1 inch after starting to close. The carrier that slides into the roof toward the back ends up going in crooked. The motor works, the manual override does not help and no amount of wiggling, or persuading will make it go further down.

Anyone have any thoughts?

Have you tried to force or pull back the part of the bracket that does not flaten out towards the rear with a hook or hard wire from the outside lookin in?
