1992 300E repair manual?
I have the Bentley Owner's Bible and it has a lot of good information in it, but I would like more repair-oriented information like torque specs, any special tools needed, etc. I know Haynes and Chilton's do not make manuals for this car, so am I stuck going to the dealer and begging them to let me purchase one of the ones they use in their service bay or is there somewhere else I can get one?
Thanks in advance for any help you can give me!

Might suggest you try ebay for the $19.95 cd service manual set for your model. I just purchased it from a MB dealer for a bunch more. It will have your torque numbers on some things. Haynes does have a manual for some models. Mercedes makes as hard as possible to keep you at the dealership. Scrounge the internet, amazing stuff out there.
Good luck.
Good luck.
Thanks for the reply! Yeah, I've been keeping my eye on eBay for a dealer manual because that's the only thing that exists besides the owner's bible as far as I can tell. How much did yours cost at the dealer, if you don't mind my asking?
I think they discounted it to $90. It was 107. The ebay cd looked to be the same for 19.95 + shipping. If you're into detail type work you need it. I have the bently book and found a mercedes manual for 1990 model 124 that is also worth the money. Had it so long I forgot when and were I got it. Some good info in all of them. No manual has it all.
I found this....looks pretty helpful! http://www.ps2cho.net/downloads/MB%2.../01General.htm

you've got it for free, good job
when i removed the head on my engine i left the intake manifold and exhaust manifold in the car. took some extra work to jimmy it out but hopefully i have saved the wiring from being buggered up. take your time, no secrets there
i found the valve guides were worn @ 100k miles so i will replace them, valves looked good otherwise, no warpage on the head nor any cracks, thanks for heads up on manuals

I know....I was very surprised about finding the stuff online. I am going to send the head to a machine shop to get pressure checked and have the surface checked. The previous owner had the engine rebuilt about 60,000 miles ago.
