1988 Mercedes 300CE
Hi everyone... ok I have a few questions to ask!!

=)

Recently I've decided to keep my mercedes around, even though its sooo old! It recently died on me, and I had the car towed to my mechanic... It looks like I'm going to need a complete engine overhaull... But what I was thinking, after looking under the hood... Is that there's just a tonne of empty space in there! Would it at all be possible to throw in a V8 from a more recent Mercedes (I have found an engine out of a salvaged vehicle that I can get fairly cheap!)? Assuming the engine would fit, measurments wise, what about the suspension and transmission, etc.? What else would need to be done to adapt the car to hold a V8 engine as opposed to the stock straight 6?

Also, I'm not too informed about cars... I'm just getting into them now... I want to throw a set of chrome spinning wheels on the car, but as I've read, the car has an offset of +49mm (I think!)... Spinners only work with RWD offset wheels... So is there any way to use wheels of say... 15mm offset on my car, or am I S.O.L? And last but not least, does anyone know of any manufacturers of body kits, etc. for this car??? I was looking at the wald kit, it looks decent, but just not aggressive enough... Any ideas???

Thanks, I appreciate the help!!

Hey,...It's not wortk investing that kind of money in a 16 yr. old car. Check the book value..I'ts probally worth $4500.00 at best. Get yourself a used Clk instead..It's still 2 doors and looks HOT!!!!!!!!!!
