Default 1986 mercedes 300e spudders when HOT at a stop Only dies if peddle pressed to floor

6I just bought a mercedes 300e 1986. It has 80,000 miles on it and had a small start problem and idle a hair ruff and starting out on hills it would sputter then tak off. I cleaned o2 sensor , Idle valve and cold start valve. Now it starts great and idle better. BUT now when its at HOT operating temp like going up a long hill or freeway speeds when I stop the idle is funny and when I Hit the gas it bogs down. If I restart engine itll pulls away hard and good till my next stop. Can you please tell me what I need to do to fix my problem. If I floor it during a spudder it dies. The only thing thatll fix it if I I restart the car.
O2 sensor??
please help!!
inline 6 fuel injected
PS runs great but seems slow to shift when getting hot and hot I mean the guage is still reading normal operating temp

Where are you located?
Have you checked all of the vacuum lines for leaks?Have you had the catalytic converter checked to make sure it is not partially plugged?

It just passed smog with flying colors and all vaccuum lines sre good. think its a sensor?

On the newer model engines,heat related misfire are often tracked back to the crank position sensor,yours is located on the front of the engine ours is on the bell housing.300e is only 40 bucks at autohausaz.com
they do wear out and get dirty,might be worth a try before having to go to a shop and have it on a scope.
fuel filter good?

Im located in california. Fuel filter is brand new. If it were the crank sensor y would it rub good after you restart engine

You cool down the car it runs or starts fine ,it gets hot again the problemm shows up again.How long does it take after it stalls to get it restarted?

I dont have to waite at all restart take off and restart at next complet stop if i let it cool for twenty then drives normal till hot again sorry typing this on cell

cool for twenty minutes and then runs fine until hot again is another indicator of the crank sensor going bad.

I have a 1985 190e 2.3, and it has the same symptoms. Almost the exact same things happe, the duration of cooling off and everything, my dad's a Mercedes tech. and neither of us can figure out the problem.

ITS THE THERMOSTAT!!!!!!!!! the thermostat controls the idle. when its hot it malfunctins and ruins the idle.
