Question 1986 300D Fuel Pump issue

Hello, I have a 1986 300d non turbo om603 and recently the delivery valve seals have been done on all 6 cylinders. The car was running a bit rough before as the leak was progressively getting worse. After the installation, all but the cylinder #1 are getting fuel. The delivery valve assembly has been removed and cleaned. I used all Mercedes o rings and washers. The hole where the delivery valve sits does fill up with fuel when crank the engine. When the Valve is torqued to about 30nm in sequence no fuel comes out of it. When it is loosened (to the point where it can be unscrewed by hand) the top of the valve shoots out fuel. All the other cylinders work fine. The valve is not binding, it sits and moves freely inside the little barrel. Has anyone had this issue before? Thank you in advance
