Default 1986 190e

Hi guys, this is my first post. I have been reading up on mercedes and have test driven a few now and have fell in love with them. What sparked this is that I have a co-worker who has a 1986 190e with 105k on it. He will sell it to me for $1500. What are your guys thoughts on those cars? I would really like to get into a mercedes and think my first (since I cant afford a new one) should be one that I will not have payments on, incase the unfortunet happens and it stops running. Any thoughts on those cars, or what to look for would be much appriciated.

190E is small and easy to maintain.

It's easy to mentain. I have a friend who has the same car (from 1986 etc) and he is very satisfied. The car has 350k on board and it's still running very well. He is complaining only that the car does not accelerate quicker over 140 km/h ... So...I think it's ok!

$1500......he must be a friend, cause you could part it out for more than that...do a VIN check on the internet @ Kelly Blue Book, etc if you are concerned about whether its been flooded or wrecked, etc- it'll cost you $20 or so.....I don't meet very many benz owners who are sorry they bought one....good luck
