Default 190E sputters/hesitates

Guyz...I'm new to Mercs and this forum. My sons 89 190E 2.6 hesitates intermittently when accellerating from dead stop. O2 senor? I just picked up a 92 400E with 79K...lovin every minute of it

I have a '91 190e 2.3L that did the same thing. I replaced the cap and rotor as well as the fuel filter, haven't had a problem since. Start with that since those parts are cheap and let us know.

Also, are you putting premium/supreme gas in it? My car runs like @#$% with anything else.

Andrew

All modern Mercedes are made to run off 91 and up octane. Anything less will give you bad performance. DOn't feel so bad though. A lot of new cars and imports require 91 and up octane. But keep in mind a car made to run off 87 octane will gain nothing from running it off of 91 octane
