Default 190e 2.3, car shut off when hot

So I've been driving this car for about a year now, its never had a working AC compressor, and it has like 300,000+ miles on it. It's had like 2 owners before it got to me. When i got it it had been sitting for about 3 years in the sun, and I have nursed this car back to health with some major help from my dad, with all his parts. This car has ran fine up until about 2 months ago. i was driving one day, and it felt liek teh car was running out of gas, so i let off the throttle, and it ran okay for another minute or two. Well i looked and it seemed to be running warm, I was in stop and go traffic. I have this little switch i put on for the fan to kick on so it dosen't get too hot. But it just shut off in the middle of traffic, and it took all I could to steer it off the road into a parking lot. After checking and changing multiple parts, it is still doing it but less regularily, mostly on only very warm days. but the warm days are starting to happen more frequently, summer is fast approacing, and i can't be without a car till winter What should I check, I've ran out of ideas! it has a new distributer cap, rotar, a new fuel filter, pump, ignition module.. new spark plug cables. It feels liek the key just shuts off. Please can someone help me? I would greatly appreciate anyone reading all of this crap and helping me out.

you may have to get it diagnosed at a shop.if you are manually triggering the fan then you are bypassing the coolant temp switch which turns on the fan and also sends info to the cis injection system.

have you replaced the crank sensor?http://www.autohausaz.com/search/pro...ition%20Sensor
if they go bad it typically shows up when warm and car has no problem when cooled off.

My car dosen't have a crank sensor, the model just didn't have one. But without me manualy triggering the fan nothing works anyway, it will overheat.

I had searched and found the same problem with my 88 190E 2.3

I had remote connected the Rear CPS (Crank Position Sensor). I used a 24ga twisted pair. It measured 690 ohms unconnected & connected in circuit with ECM. It also draws about 90 ma in circuit.
I found that Idling with the Fan Clutch disconnected and Hood shut, once the Electric fan kicked on and Warmed up the Engine compartment, it took less that 5 minutes to faulter and shut down! Just Prior on both test I found the ohms dropped to 500 then shut down. It also measured 2 ohms with Key Still on. I touched nothing. after 40-60 seconds the ohms started to rise up slowly (with-in) 30 seconds to 690 ohms.
I restarted the Motor. After 30 seconds it shut down again.
I will post more as I test it.
