Default '06 E350 Laterial accel sensor reset?

After the dreaded ESP Malfunction; visit workshop, I installed a new laterial accel sensor when my shop did a scan. Do I now need to reset the computer? I already disconnected both batteries, but still the ESP warning. Thanks.

probably wasnt the problem. ive replaced 2 of those in the past 10 years. try turning the steering wheel all the way left and right to the stops and see if the light goes out. when disconnecting the battery youll need to initialize/ relearn your steering angle sensor, your particular car had issues with the wiring in the steering column which caused ESP lights. a new harness gets soldered in.

When ordered, the sensor comes "married" to the VIN number of the car. If not, it must be consumated. If the unit was installed in another car prior, the marriage must first be annulled before the new union can be joined.
