Radio Static from Rear Parking Sensors
I recently leased a new 2011 CLS 550. The car did not come with factory parking sensors so the dealer I leased the car from had a third party company come out and install front and rear parking sensors on my car. After a couple days I noticed that putting the car into reverse gear creates static on all AM radio stations.
Dealer says that all CLS models have this problem because of the placement of the rear parking sensor readout, the AM antenna, and amplifier.
Dealer rep tells me that all CLS models with factory installed rear parking sensors automatically mute the radio when the car is shifted into reverse gear. Does anyone know if this is true?
