Default Valve cover cleaning with kerosene

Both of my valve covers leak. I removed and cleaned them with kerosene.

Seems the metal is reacting to the kerosene. Anyone have this issue?

Not sure what to so. See pic.

I am woondering if i ruined both covers.

The covers are made of magnesium and are very light weight. The metal can break down due to corrosion of the acids in the engine oil. Go on eBay and buy good replacement parts and have a machine shop clean the ones you buy with their hot water jet tank.
