Tire problems with our CLK 430 Cab.
Actually it's my wife's car. As all of you know this car has staggered wheel/tire fitment-and it devours tires. My wife loves the car and the horsepower, but she doesn't carve corners-just likes to be able to occasionally outrun BMWs from the stoplight. I'm tired of annual tire purchases (no rotating of course). Has anyone gone to all one size on all four corners? I know it means new wheels as well as tires, but I'm willing if I can get more life out the tires.
Anyone...?

make sure the rims are the same size on the backs with the larger tire. and the smaller rims on the fronts with the smaller tires. ive seen so many of those cars with the rims in the wrong spot and tires sometimes wrong too. there are part #,s on the back of the rims on the spokes. compare them and be sure they are the same 1st. should be 208 401 ** **. example 2084010132 fronts and 2084010133 rears just an example. you might have to take off the rim to be able to see the #'s and also be sure the tires are the same size. i think that car is 225 45 17 front and 245 40 17 rears the correct tire size is on the drivers door jam. those cars do eat up the front tires though. maybe you need an alignment. try adding more air to the tires too.
