Default tire pressure - 2009 CLK350

wife just bought a used CLK350 from a dealer. With sport package and AMG wheels. She's off on a high speed jaunt to LA tomorrow morning. I checked the tire pressure and it is unusually low for my experience. 28-32 psi for tires rated 44 psi on the side wall.

There isn't the usual time to run some tests to see cold and hot pressures, so was wondering if anyone had some instant advice if moving up to 36-37 psi is reasonable.

Thanks

My tire pressure is printed inside my gas cover and it is indeed stated 28 and 32 psi.

The number on the sidewall of the tire (44) is the maximum pressure it is build for BUT should never be used on any car as the inflated pressure. The door pillar or gas cover should provide the advice you need. As stated 28/32 sounds right. 36/37 will produce a bone-jarring ride like driving on wagon wheels.
Always check pressures when tires are cold or minimum of two hours after driving.

usually anywhere between 30-40 will be fine. if the TPM light is on just add a few pounds of air to each tire.
