Replacing an About to Expire Warranty?
I bought my CPO 2002 CLK 430 (with about 16K miles) along with the dealer offered extended warranty 3 years ago, so that warranty is about to expire. I absolutely love driving this car, but had little problems here and there (motorized seats that were 'finicky', top wouldn't go up, etc.) that were luckily covered by the warranty.
Now the warranty is up and I'd love to replace it, but the car now has 61K miles on it and I was quoted $7K by the dealer to replace the warranty!! The salesman then said - "Nah, it doesn't make sense; I wouldn't let you buy this." But I am not ready to replace the car and I'm nervous about being without any protection. Any suggestions?
Am beginning to think I must just go on without any warranty and that is making me nervous...
