Hi - I just got a 2007 CLK 350, and it's been great except for one thing. When I slow down or come to a halt I hear a soft rattle which becomes more obvious as I apply the brakes. Does anyone know what this could be ? I've just had the car for a few days. Thanks.

 

Hmm.. I have a 2006 CLK350 and I also hear the same thing when I am stopped. It's a very light rattle... Does anybody know?

 

Just a quick update - I took the car in to the dealership, and apparently a TSB has been issued about this problem. The tapping noise (which comes from the rear of the car near the fuel tank) is from the fuel line, and can be corrected by a little device that stabilises the line. The dealership will have to order the part.
