Default Radiator/Gearbox problem?

Hello
We are about to acquire a 320 V6 petrol CLK 2004 chassis number WDB2093652F101733
which has had very little use (8000 miles) in as new condition.

I have heard some horror stories regarding the radiator leaking coolant into the gearbox (a certain make of radiator)?

Can anyone advise me as to whether this problem was sorted out by the time this car was made or if it may in fact have the upgraded radiator fitted. As far as I know no changes were made to the car during its warranty period.

In view of the mileage what is the best type and viscosity and make of oil for this car.

Any comments and advise would be greatly appreciated.

Many thanks

Richard

I don't think it affects your car. If I am not mistaken it is the CLK 500's model year 2003.
Valeo radiators I think.
