I was trying to close the roof on my 1999 clk 230 convertible when it came to a halt. I pushed the button to open the roof and it opened fully, but now will not close at all. I tried the Mercedes Benz service line who told me that as the last service was not done by Mercedes they cannot help me. I called out the RAC who have never had a problem like this and it isn't mentioned anywhere in the clk manuals for the years 1998, 1999 or 2000. I now have my car covered with a tarpaulin to protect it from the weather. How do I close the roof? All the fuses are working and the light on the toggle switch is permanantly on. This is my first Mercedes and not a happy bunny with the level of support they offer or how a convertible fails after 6 weeks of owning it. The car hasn't even done 41,000 miles yet!!!
