Phone install in '06 CLK500
Hi all - I just bought an '06 CLK500 with almost all the options I wanted on it...The one option I couldn't find with the car I bought was the integrated phone package. Anyone know the approx. cost to have the dealer install the phone stuff if I have the radio-only version of Command? Can it even be done?

HI...
I have a new CLK280, the integrated phone is standard. Just need to buy the specific phone cradle from the dealer. This sits in the arm rest compartment, where it would also charge the phone.
Works really well, the calls comes thru the sound system and is relly clear. And u can answer and make calls via the steering buttons. It receives via the car antenna which makes reception very good, unlike the bluetooth systems in many other cars..

@ Sidecar: it will all depend on what spec MB you have (Euro or US, for instance), and whether or not it is pre-wired for phone. If you have a US spec car, it will be pre-wired for phone and it will be fairly easy to get a phone kit installed.
If you have a Euro spec CLK, chances are that it didn't come pre-wired from factory - meaning that retrofitting a kit will be more complicated, and you will need more parts to get the integrated phone kit working. Thus more expensive...
Either way, the car needs reprogramming through Stardiagnose after the install has been completed.

Thanks for the info!!
I do have the US version and it has all the appropriate buttons on the dash & steering wheel. I assume it's wired for the phone, now the question is how much will the dealer charge to install??
