Hi All,

I'm new to the forum and in search of a bit of help. Can anyone point me in the direction of a parts diagram for a 2003 CLK500? I'd like to be able to match up part numbers for a few pieces I may replace.

Most importantly I need to know the OEM part number for the front rotors.

what parts are we talking about here?

you have to indicate your VIN to get the correct number.

am sure lots of our mates here are more than willing to find it for you.

 

My primary concern is replacing the front rotors and I'm curious as to what I can replace them directly with? I brought my car in to the local garage who used to handle my slk on a regular basis with no problems and they cut my rotors and put on new brake pads. Now they've cut them too far and when they heat up they warp and cause a sound and feeling as if someone is punching the tire.

I'd like to explore replacing the standard rotors with the cross drilled for more ventilation and I've heard they last longer. Is there any difference in pad that I need to make since I've already purchased them or can they work with standard pads? Does anyone know if the CLK500 and CLK55 both use the same size rotor only difference being the cross drill? I've done some web research and it seems that is the only thing that sets them apart.
