OB1 or OBD" - Its driving me nuts!!!
Hi guys... we need some help.
We have a Mercedes CLK 230 Kompressor W2000 model. We recently purchased an OBD2 code reader (with 16 pin connector) and a 16 pin to 38 pin adaptor to remove existing error codes from CPU. Unfortunately it didn't connect - but when used in mates Jaguar it worked a treat. This resulted in an expensive trip to garage to get them removed.
We have been browsing forums for a while now and there seems to be confusion over wither OBD1 or OBD2 should be used on this model and also wither an adapter is the way to go.
Following a recent incident involving brakes we now need to remove codes off CPU again (dont want to have to spend even more money at dealer to sort this - parts were expensive enough).
Have u got any advice for me?
Thanks
