Default Newbie 02 CLK 430 want 19"s have a few questions?

Watzup people, newto the forum, just wanted to ask a question thatprolly has been asked countless times, though i stillcan't seem to find a definitive answer. I have an 02 CLK 430 with stock amg 17", I want to get the new CL 63 AMG 19". My question is what kind of tires if any, would besuitable for living in Boston with pot holes and occasional snow? Can I put the same size all around if the rims are 19" 8.5 and 19" 9.5. Will it be more than horrible in the snow anddo I have to lower the car? I tried tirerack already, just looking for anyone who has been in the same situation. thanks in advance!!!!!!!!!!

Here'z a link to the rims I am considering:

Hi mate.
I don't know much about Boston, being that I live in the UK but I have an '01 CLK 230K and have recently put 19" replica Carlsson's with 235/35 tyres on it. I used to have 17" rims from an E Class with 235/45 tyres on 'em. The ride comfort didn't vary too much, which was a relief, but with 19" rims, you'regoing to have to learn to read the road ALWAYS in order to avoid potholes or other hazards.I have thumped a couple of potholes and it's not funny! Luckily did not damage rim. As for snow, it may be an idea to get some smalller wheels (or keep your 17" rims) to put on during snowy seasons - you're gonna hate yourself if you don't and slide into a curb!! As for the tyres, with 19" rims, you're not really going to get much protection from the tyre because the tyre profile gets smaller the larger your rim is. My advice is put your "expendable" wheels on when spending time in bad areas or in winter.
You may want to lower your car by maybe an inch when the 19's are on itas it maystand alittle tall. Lowering your car will make it more rigid and thus making a bumpier ride.

Nice consideration, I have a set of 19" moda rims 8.5 and 9.5 on my clk500. The tires i use are 235/35/19 in the front and 275/30/19 in the rear, this is the perfect setup and it wont rub anywhere, they will stick to the ground. The handling is awesome, i had 285/30/19 in the rear and one side would rub and the other wouldnt, so 275/30/19 is the best bet. Put some pics when you get them.
