i just changed my battery and the radio wont work asking for code the code on my code card is not working so i took out radio and the s/no is different from my code card so it has been replaced the s/no is

Was your question ever answered? I have the same issue.. Non-origiginal radio.. Does the radio have intelligence (radio specific code via serial #) or is the intelligence in the car itself (vin specific radio code)?

 

If the vehicle is manufactured in the US or Canada there is a web site that you can go to for $24 and give them your VIN and they will give you the code.........otherwise, dealer - VIN, and they should be able to give it to you no problem.

 

take your vin to the dealer should be no problem just did it last week

 

get rid of it. those factory stereos suck anyways. go get you a kenwood.10 times better.
