Default help the EC Light is on!!!

Does anyone know how to get this to turn off? The dealer thinks I have to replace the condenser, but I am not convinced.....

When I first turn the car onthe ECis on. I turn the key off and then on and I am able to turn the EC off. The AC works perfectly when the EC light is off.

There is also a clicking in the engine when the light is on, but disappears when I turn the EC off. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks.

The EC light stands for "Economy". When the light is on that means the compressor is off. If you cant get the light to turn off that means the system has low freeon. The a/c compressor will not run if the system is low on pressure to keep it from damaging. How long has it been since you last recharged it?? Your system might have a leak in it.

I have the same indications, where the EC light comes on randomly, and may be extinguished only if you cycle the ignition (off and back on).Afterdoing so,theAC blows cold.
I did just have the freon re-charged, and the suquently the o-rings changed at the condenser, and then re-charged, again.
Is it possible there is a code stuck in the OBC?

mine is a '99 clk-320

If you have no leaks and the system is charged, then you prabably have a bad Evap Temp Sensor.. The sensor reads too hot at times and will turn off the a/c system...
