Front electric window / seat problem
The front electric windows and seats on my 2001 200clk conv are refusing to work. I have discovered that if i take out the fuses relating to these and put them back in while the key is in position 1 they work fine again for a day but then its back to not working again. Fuses are never blowen.
Has anybody any ideas????????

RE: Front electric window / seat problem
Yes, I have had this issue and resolved it. You need to remove the front drivers seat and carpet to expose the wiring harness along the inside rocker panel and look for corroded contacts in the cluster plugs. They should either be cleaned and sprayed with contact cleaner or replaced, Bet I'm right. Good luck.

RE: Front electric window / seat problem
Yes they are "taking the ****." And they are also LAZY! They would rather replace parts and charge it off to you rather than find the real problem! The issue is that there is no power to the driver's door switch clusters(the power windows, drivers' power seat and the main door lock control. ALL these controls could not simultaneously go bad unless there is a common denominator...the power supply. As it turned out in my car(and I demonstrated a same model used car with a power seat issue as well hmmm, think MB is aware of this ?) the cause is located in the harness located on the driver's floor sill! How arrogant of the dealer not to attempt to find the source and just start changing out expensive parts for no reason! Get the service tech to prove to you that the main window switch cluster does not have electrical continuity and therefore needs to be replaced! Bet it is fine! Now where is the power loss? Regards, Bob Raymond.

Thanks Ya'll! I'm working on my 2004 500 CLK. After checking the obvious, this had me stumped. Without a local, reliable independent Benz specialist, I was already prepping for the dealer hit. I cannot wait to try out the suggestions. I'll be back with an update.
