Just got off the phone to MB, as my CLK320 is in for exactly this problem. Apparently the headrests lock into position and need relaesing with a key/bolt that should be in with your owner manual, theres a hole besides the headrests where you can unlock them, its a little tricky they tell me....i'll be doing mine tonight...

I have a 06 CLK-350 and the smae thing happened to me. Took it to the dealer and at no charge they put them down, with the top up, and also showed me how to do it. My key is located in the trunk right by the spare and on the side of the headrest there is a mark, which mine is made of stiching, were you place the key in and press down on the key to release the locks and then with your hand kind of muscle the headrest back down. Hope this helps.

Thanks guys, helped loads. I read the manual, as it said there was a difference between the roof up and down, therefore I was put offwiththe DIY idea. Anyway, Good luck to all.

Default CLK 240 Cabriolet Roof Not Opening

Hi, I read the owners manual too. It said that if the roof was closed you had to take it to a dealer to reset. I took me five minutes using the hex key. One thing to mention, the spring is located on the right side of each pillar.

Very easy. Take a look at this video. Notice the roof is up. Dealers around her want $100 minimum service charge.
