I have a 2001 CLK430 and tonight the dash lights went out and I cant get them back on. I checked fuses but nothing there . Where do I go next? all lights did work now all lights are off.

Also my top has to be lowered manually. When I hit switch to lower it nothing happens. I have checked fluid and electrical connections. I have a slk230 also and I had problem with the top not working and found a pinched wired that was grounding out the operation. Are there any wires for the top on the 430 held on with a metal clip anyplace. I am asking because I cant find a sticky on how to troubleshoot this problem.
