Default CLK 320 or NOT?

I have my eye on buying a 2004 CLK320 and have a question that some here may have experience with.

With all I have read in other venues there seems to be a lot of electrical and mechanical anomalies that may be isolated or maybe this class was a engineering and design flaw.

Of those that have owned this model, what did you experience and most of all would you recommend this model? I can't believe this is the case with all CLKs in this class.

Before I put out $$$ I am hoping to hear from anyone giving good advise.

Ricky

Like any type of car it is a hit or miss. Some friends of ours have a 2006 CLK350. Almost the same car and they love it. No issues except for a headlight that kept going out. I would recommend getting it inspected before purchase. Where are you buying from?

I am buying here in so cal. this car only has 38k excellent condition and when I test drove it, I found it to be just an amazing ride and comfort.

I know this does not account for what mechanical issues if any exist but even so I am more than mechanically capable and can handle most anything except lurking intermittent electrical issues.

From other complaints found on the internet (unsubstantiated of course) I felt I should come here to see if any CLK320 owners had love hate relationships with their beloved MLB. I just don't want the drama with buying something that was a botched design.

Dealer not private.

I believe a car is a car is a car is a car. I don't really have preference buying from a dealer for the most part I don't trust dealerships. I can spot junk when I see it.

The problem with my current situation is that this car is in amazing condition. It only brings suspicion.

I have only owned and still do own a 1985 300TD and love the car. It’s not fast but what a ride....like riding on a cloud. My wife won'tever let me sell it.

well I have a 430 and I love it but when I found out that a Corvette cost the same on insurance I put mine up forsale.. the buyers that came to see it were in disbelief when i said I didn't really care if they bought it or not.. there is not a scratch on it and the interior is flawless even the engine compartment is detailed 53k miles at the time and had a set price of 16,200 2001 I didn't want any games.. Car max offered me 8,900 haha what a joke when they had one same mileage same year for 21k for sale.. they said it was a v8 and there is no demand for gas hogs.. I told them that it got 26 miles to the gallon going 90mph and29 going 78 it's way better than these pieces of crap underpowered over geared 4 bangers that feel like they are comming apart anyspeed over 80.. anyhow they didn't realize that the corvette 6 speed i was looking at on their lot got 31.. yeah don't trust dealerships at all!!!! why are you stuck on the 320? I know they are less expensive but there are plently of cars on www.cars.com and ebay that are great deals with low miles..
