Default CLK 230 Conv Advice needed

Hi,

I currently own a 2002, 230 CLK convertible (Kompressor).

Its now on 143,000 miles with most services in place.

Recently when driving, in auto, the car seemed to take forever before moving/ shifting in gear. Initially it felt it was stuck in 2nd gear and i had to move to manual. Since then at times I've had to take my foot off the gas once or twice to allow it to change although its never got stuck.

Are these signs of a transmission oil change/ filter change, or could this be the start of something more serious i.e the a $300 bill or a few thousand! I've been to 2 specialists, one said oil change the other worried me telling me these models have a transmission issue at this mileage and I could be looking at 5k.

Also at this mileage, what other faults/major bills can I expect?

Thanks

Make sure you don't have a leak. Usually at the trans electrical connector. A common issue is the trans conductor plate, it will fail and throw speed sensor or output shaft RPM codes. Probably cost you about 400$-500$ to repair it. At some point you'll get a check engine light.

Also you problem could be your shifter lever assembly. Than can both cause similar driveability issues.
