Default A/C not running right...

Yes, I have yet another problem with my CLK430. This car is going to kill me, I swear. =) Recently I noticed that my A/C does not seem to be running properly. When I am on the highway, it seems to be ok (not great but ok). However, when I am in stop and go traffic it blows hot air. It worked good up until the time I had bad fuel in my tank (about 3 weeks ago). I don't know what it is, but I am afraid it may be the condenser?!?! When I turn on the A/C, it makes a rattling noise. If I run the A/C and then come to a stop, it feels like my car is going to stall. Of course, this may be a result of the bad gas still filtering through. Any advice?

Ours is a 99 too and we have had nothing but problems with it. I really want to get rid of it but it is so fun to drive (when it doesn't have problems). The a/c is the main problem now but there are other problems too. Thanks for the advice. I am not willing to fork out much more money on this car. I will take it to the shop down the street- not the dealership.
